Here's some of the stuff I've been into in January! Includes stuff that I finished and stuff I'm still working through. Updated throughout the month.
Memory Lost
This might end up dropped -- I was going to try to stick it out for Bai Yu but gosh it is really just. Not good at all. I feel like I have a pretty decent tolerance for mediocre-to-bad tv but I am not feeling it on this one. I don't think there's that much chemistry between Bai Yu's character & the FL and I DEFINITELY don't think 'we both lost our memory at the same time but we were apparently dating each other before that happened' is any basis for a relationship. But what do I know.
Story of Ming Lan
Sloooowly working my way through this one.. just over halfway through at this point and I started back in like November of 2020 I think. I really really like this show but it is LONG.
The Lost Tomb Reboot
Another one I started back in 2020.. the pacing/plots I didn't care about made parts of this a slog but the Iron Triangle made up for it 100%! I love their relationship. I think the plot was mostly just ok -- what really kept me watching was the interactions between the characters & the way they dealt with what was happening to Wu Xie. Zhu Yilong was so so so good in this, I am just completely charmed by his Wu Xie.
The Lost Tomb S1
Filtering from 'all' to 'English-language only' in the Lost Tomb tag on AO3 hurt me. Needed more Wu Xie content so I decided to go back and watch some of the previous stories since the reboot was my first exposure, even though I'd heard some of the previous adaptations were not great. I'm about halfway through right now and I think it is just alright. But I want to know the Iron Triangle history so. Here I am, I guess.
